Privacy Policy

The Kumakōgen-chō Tourism Association (hereinafter referred to as the “Association”) sets forth the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”) with regard to the handling of customers' personal information in the services (hereinafter referred to collectively as the “Service”) provided through this website.

Article 1: Personal Information

“Personal information” shall refer to the “personal information” identified in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information. This refers to information regarding individual living persons, including name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact details and other descriptors able to identify specific individuals, as well as information able to identify specific individuals (personal identification information) through relevant standalone information such as health insurance policy numbers.

Article 2: Management of Personal Information

In order to maintain customers’ personal information in an accurate and up-to-date form and prevent unauthorized access, loss, damage, falsification or leakage of the personal information, the Association will take necessary measures including security system maintenance, management structure development and thorough staff training, implementing safety measures and conducting strict personal information management.

Article 3: Purposes of Personal Information Collection & Usage

The Association’s purposes of personal information collection and usage are as described below.

(a) Business communications

  • For the purpose of information provision or communication with customers.

(b) Tasks related to member registration in operation of the website

  • For the purpose of information provision or communication such as distributing email digests to conduct customer surveys, marketing research, etc.
  • For the purpose of making notice of new features, updates, promotional events, etc. related to the Service customers are making use of along with notifications of other services provided by the company.
  • For the purpose of necessary communication regarding maintenance, important notices, etc.

(c) Tasks related to recruitment selection

  • For the purpose of information provision or communication to job applicants or related to recruitment task management.

(d) Inquiry responses

  • For the purpose of responding to customer inquiries.

However, for personal information subject to disclosure, purposes of usage correspond to (c)~(d) from the abovementioned.

Article 4: Alteration of the Purpose of Usage

The Association shall alter the purpose of personal information usage only in the event that the altered purpose can reasonably be considered appropriately relevant to the original purpose of usage.
In the event that the purpose of usage has been altered, notification regarding the altered purpose shall be made to the customer by a method prescribed by the company, or shall be announced on the website.

Article 5: Changes to the Privacy Policy

The content of this Policy is subject to change without notification to the customer, except for items otherwise stipulated by laws and ordinances or in this Policy.
Unless otherwise stipulated separately by the Association, the updated Privacy Policy shall take effect from the time of its posting on the website.

Article 6: Regarding the Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

The Association shall not provide personal information that has been acquired to third parties without customers’ prior agreement unless permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other laws and ordinances.

Article 7: Regarding the Outsourcing of Personal Information Handling

The handling of personal information that has been acquired shall not be outsourced in whole or in part.

Article 8: Regarding the Disclosure of Personal Information

The Association shall respond to requests from the individual regarding notification of the purpose of usage, disclosure, correction, addition or deletion of content, termination of use, erasure, or cessation of provision to third parties (hereinafter collectively referred to as “disclosure, etc.”). Please refer to the “Contact” mentioned below for the point of contact responding to requests regarding disclosure, etc.

Article 9: Regarding the Discontinuation of Personal Information Usage

In the event that the Association has received a request from the individual for the discontinuation of usage or deletion of personal information (hereinafter referred to as “discontinuation of usage, etc.”) on the grounds that its usage exceeds the original purpose of usage or that it has been acquired by improper means, necessary investigations will be carried out.
In the event that it is deemed necessary to act in accordance with such request on the basis of the investigation mentioned in the preceding sentence, discontinuation of usage, etc. of the relevant personal information will be implemented.
In the event that the Association has implemented discontinuation of usage, etc. of the personal information on the basis of what is stipulated in the preceding sentence, or in the event that a determination has been made not to implement discontinuation of usage, etc. of the personal information, notification shall be made to the customer.

Article 10: Precautions in Entering Personal Information

Provision of personal information is voluntary. In the event we are unable to receive personal information, or are unable to receive accurate information, please understand in advance that we may be unable to provide a proper consideration or response.
If a telephone number has been entered, telephone contact may be made if contact cannot be made by email. Please understand that it may not be possible to make contact if a telephone number has not been entered.

Article 11: Acquisition of Personal Information Through Access Analysis Tools

The Google access analysis tool “Google Analytics” is used for the website. Google Analytics uses cookies for the purpose of traffic data collection. This traffic data is collected anonymously in a form that does not identify specific individuals. However, collection of this data can be declined by disabling cookies with the browser you use. Please refer to the Google Analytics Terms of Service for details.
